Press Release – Maruti Elevator Interiors UK Ltd Opens New Ashford Factory with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Led by Local MP Sojan Joseph and Ashford Mayor Winston Michael
Today (12/08/2026), Maruti Elevator Interiors UK Ltd opened their new factory on the Mace Industrial Estate in Ashford with a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by the local MP, Sojan Joseph and Ashford Mayor, Winston Michael.
The factory, which will include a new production hall, press brake machine, and V-groove machine, will create dozens of skilled jobs for the community, providing economic growth within the East Kent Region and has been welcomed by Mr Joseph.

It was a pleasure to celebrate the invaluable contribution that nurses and the wider healthcare workforce make to our country, and to discuss a range of issues with him.
This is great news for young people in Ashford and the surrounding areas!
The Labour Government’s new £9 million investment will ensure there is more space available at Ashford College for 16 to 19-year-olds to develop the skills they need to succeed in their future careers.

Great to cut the ribbon for the opening of Maruti Elevator Interiors’ new factory in Ashford.
This will bring skilled new jobs to our community, and I welcome the company’s decision to invest in Ashford and be part of our town’s future.
A good visit to The Lake House in Ashford today to hear about the work they are doing in the community to support physical & mental wellbeing — including Mentalk Health, which provides free support for men every Tuesday evening, and their community garden project, ‘Reflections’.
It’s great that EKC Group, including Ashford College, has had its application approved by the DfE through the Post-16 Capacity Fund.
This will create more places in Ashford and the surrounding areas for young people aged 16–19, helping them gain crucial skills to enter work.
The simple fact is that mental health services haven’t kept pace with rising demand.
Andy Burnham is changing that.
The new mental health centre opening at the William Harvey Hospital will help people get the right support where they need it.
I spoke with ITV Meridian about why these new centres are good news for the NHS.
