Today (12/08/2026), Maruti Elevator Interiors UK Ltd opened their new factory on the Mace Industrial Estate in Ashford with a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by the local MP, Sojan Joseph and Ashford Mayor, Winston Michael.

The factory, which will include a new production hall, press brake machine, and V-groove machine, will create dozens of skilled jobs for the community, providing economic growth within the East Kent Region and has been welcomed by Mr Joseph.

Maruti Elevator Interiors holds an established global presence across the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and India and chose Ashford for their new factory due to:

Proximity to Greater London: Strategic positioning allows rapid response times and direct delivery for major high-rise and commercial developments across London.

Gateway to Europe: Immediate access to the Port of Dover and Channel Tunnel infrastructure facilitates seamless transport to continental European projects. National Connectivity:

Direct access to the M25 motorway network links the facility to the Midlands, northern industrial corridors, and export gateways. Council Partnership:

Deep alignment with Ashford Borough Council’s proactive vision for industrial innovation, business growth, and economic development.

Sojan Joseph MP for Ashford Hawkinge and the Villages Said:

“I am delighted that Maruti selected Ashford for their new site – this factory will provide skilled jobs for our local community and will be a real boost for Ashford, Hawkinge, and the Villages – as well as much of East Kent.

Ashford is a fantastic place for businesses to thrive – and I am so pleased Maruti have recognised our town as a place to bring industrial innovation and jobs – and I look forward to working closely with them in the future.”

Mr. Chirag Shah Director of Maruti Group Said:

“We are very delighted to be embarking on a new journey and setting up a new factory in Ashford. We were truly honoured by the presence of the Mayor of Ashford and the Member of Parliament, Sojan Joseph.

This journey marks the beginning of a new chapter for Maruti – expanding beyond the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Indian subcontinent and serving into the United Kingdom.

We chose Ashford because of its location. With the purpose of being able to access London and the UK and the opportunity to expand into European countries. It is the prominent point in terms of logistics and we would like to build a community – our presence will help Ashford to create new opportunities, generate employment, and I would like to work closely with Ashford Council to build up relations together.”
