Labour MP: People with mild ADHD and anxiety should not get benefits – The Telegraph
Britons diagnosed with mild attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and anxiety should not qualify for welfare payments, a Labour MP chairing an all-party group on mental health has said.
Sojan Joseph, the MP for Ashford, said signing people off work because of a condition such as ADHD or anxiety should only be an option in severe cases.
Mr Joseph said: “Some conditions are severe. But most conditions are not that severe. You can’t just say all ADHDs or all [people with] autism can’t work or should be on benefits. [The system] should distinguish between the severity of the illness. The current system doesn’t have that.”

Kent MP says he’s ‘lost all faith’ in South East Water – ITV Meridian
The Ashford MP, Sojan Joseph, has criticised South East Water for what he says are ‘repeated failures’.
Around 4,000 of his constituents, who are South East Water customers, have been affected with either having no water, shortages, or low pressure (according to company’s figures).
He says he has “lost all faith” in the company due to repeated failures to deliver basic standards of customer service.
He’s written to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, asking the Secretary of State, Emma Reynolds MP, to take action.
